Abstract
:
The study aimed to demonstrate how the prophetic methods are used in the content of "guiding the behavior" chapter in the kindergarten teacher’s handbook of self-learning curriculum. The researcher designed a prophetic methods' indicators’ form, using the descriptive analysis method, to analyze the content of the teacher’s handbook. There were four methods for measurement included in the study: role model, story, reinforcement and dialogue. (71) indicatore were appointed, tested and verified by a panel of experts; the criteria average standard level was determinate by Cooper method to (87.3%). The researcher used topics as an analysis unit. Results showed a positive use of the role model method, for most of its features clearly appeared in the handbook. Results also revealed a clear implementation of all the indicators of the reinforcement method. As for the dialogue method, it was partially implemented. However, there was no implementation of the story method. This study provides some recommendations for curriculum developers to pay more attention for enhancing the teacher’s handbook with an educational and practical content that enables teachers to use and implement the prophetic methods in guiding children's behavior.
