Abstract
:
This study aims at reviewing the role of wireless capsule endoscopy and its efficacy in the diagnosis, monitoring, and evaluating the (Gastrointestinal) GI disorders through employing the use of a small wireless camera fitted on a capsule (less than 0.52 inch). Therefore, the capsule moves through the digestive tract and takes pictures transmitted to a wearable belt recorder. Also, it focuses on finding tiny components that are used to improve the WCE (Wireless Capsule endoscope) to achieve that, the following steps were implemented: Study the current capsule endoscopy from the literature, design and simulate the device in the computer, implement the system and find tiny components in a capsule, test the performance of the system and enhance the results of output image results. The results of the present study showed that designing a spherical shaped endoscopy module rather than a capsule-shaped and a smaller spherical shaped module within size diameter 1.35 cm diameter at a high resolution and higher frame per second (8- 32 fps) can solve the problems related to the patients, such as pains result from the old capsules, give accurate pictures, and increase battery life. It also is used to get 3-dimensional images.
