Abstract
:
This research aims to identify healthcare workers knowledge, attitude and practice towards microbial occupational exposure in the work environment in some Jizan province hospitals.aims also to know the possible reasons for non-application of safety standards and occupational health concerning the training or taking the necessary precautions to prevent from the infection and stop the microbial occupational exposure among healthcare workers. also knowing the rang of applying the health care principals by the hospitals and the rang of applying this important subject among the activities of this health institutions. In order to achieve the objectives of the research, the descriptive analysis study and quazi experimental methods were used in this study. The researcher used the questionnaire and cognitive testing as a research tool which were distributed over (326) on Healthcare workers in Jizan hospitals. the microbial load results showed that the highest value of bacteria was 1900 CFU / m3 in the emergency department of King Fahd Hospital, and the lowest value of bacteria was 60 CFU / m3 in the laboratory section of Al-emies Hospital. For fungi the ratio was 7-90 CFU / m3, the highest fungus value was 90 CFU / m3 in the emergency department at Prince Mohammed Hospital and the lowest value was in the laboratory section at Dhamad hospital. The results of measuring awareness of the four domains were below average in the five hospitals. The researcher found that training has a clear effect in raising awareness of the study sample. The researcher presented recommendations and solutions regarding awareness of workers in the field of health care about occupational hazards, principles of occupational health, the impact of training to raise their awareness . The researcher provided recommendations and solutions regarding health care workers awareness of occupational hazards and occupational health principles. Also the impact of training on raising their awareness, and application of hospitals to the principles of occupational health and the presence of this important aspect within the activities of these health facilities.
