Abstract
:
The thesis is an observatory and exploratory study addressing the technical analytics of applications in higher education institutions of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. University networks are facing the issue of high volume of network traffic affecting at large. It has been observed that Application Visibility and Control (AVC) is a powerful tool to manage network activity and with maximum reliability in accordance with the business standards. Hence, it is also implemented in the study. This research study focuses on the evolvement and emergence of Technical Analytics Applications (TAA), key driving forces, analytical processes applied and the way it can improve and help in planning to guide the education sector for better understanding of the real environment and to avail the best available prospects offered in the field of education through technical analytics of running applications over the big university networks. After thoroughly reviewing the relevant literature, researcher proposed a model to assess the big data analytics capabilities in Saudi higher education institutions and data was collected accordingly using the survey based questionnaire. Conceptual model constructed with four hypotheses to investigate the relationship among Network Performance, Operational Capabilities, Dynamic Capabilities and Technical Analytical Capabilities. Questionnaire was distributed through Google Docs and a total of 151 respondents were found valid for the study. Researcher analyzed the responses using structural equation modelling by using the partial least square path modelling (PLS-SEM). Study results first validated the positive correlation between dynamic capabilities to be significant towards network performance. Furthermore, the second level hypothesis operational capabilities have strong and positive correlation on the network performance. At next phase, Technical Analytical Capabilities mediated network performance through dynamic capabilities and operational capabilities also found moderate level significance. Overall, study results showed that the concept of technical analytics of application in higher education institutions is transformed into competitive performance through the path of dynamic and operational capabilities which can be seen as a mediating factor in the study model. This study contributes to better understand how big data analytics application is turned into competitive business value in the Saudi higher education institutions.
