This study aimed at identifying the folklore decorations in Al-Baha region and creating trimmings designs with the national identity that can be produced and applied in a way satisfy modern general taste.
To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher relied on the descriptive analytical approach with the practical application of the description and analysis of some heritage pieces of the research region.
The researcher has made 16 computer-aided design for the trimmings inspired by Al-Baha region folklore, and 3 designs were chosen, which were implemented in the style of embroidering and touching the beads based on the opinions of the sample (in terms of the suitability of the designs to achieve the aesthetic and functional aspect of the design) and then they were employed in 9 innovative computer-aided design, and according to the opinions of the sample, 3 designs were implemented.
The results showed the possibility to benefiting from traditional decorations and employ them in a new style, as designs No. (3, 13, 8) achieved the highest quality parameters in a row, as the design (3, 13) achieved the highest quality factor by 100%, followed by design (8) by 94.78%.
In the light of the results of the study, several recommendations were presented, including: publishing and documenting folklore art in an academic scientific manner and caring for the study of folklore in the Kingdom, and what it contains of folk heritage and arts because of its great importance as it stimulates the taste and preservation of traditional art, and the establishment of museums and research centers Specialized for documenting folklore in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, supporting scientific research and research projects that are interested in employing aesthetics of folklore in artistic applications and innovative designs
