Abstract
:
The study aimed at identifying the role of the learning centers in the development of social life skills (self-awareness, communication, cooperation and teamwork) for preschool children in public kindergartens in Makkah. The study sample consisted of (362) children, (223) kindergarten teachers and (25) public kindergartens from Makkah. The study followed the survey descriptive approach. To achieve the objectives of the study, social life skills form for kindergarten children, note card of social life skills for kindergarten children and social life skills scale were applied. The results showed That the most important social life skills of the kindergarten stage was represented by the skills of cooperation and teamwork, followed by communication skills, then skills of self-awareness and self-management. The most important role of the activities in the learning centers to develop social life skills was represented by self-awareness and self-management skills, followed by cooperation skills and teamwork, then communication skills،The most prominent effectiveness of learning centers activities in the development of social life skills. They were respectively arranged as: the dimension of communication skills with an average of (0.95), followed by the dimension of self-awareness and self-management skills in an average (0.90), finally the dimension of cooperation and teamwork skills in an average of (0.86), the level of kindergarten children at social life skills ranging from moderate to high. The study recommended the necessity to develop a design for learning centers environment and how to be enriched with motivating activities for the development of social life skills. To design programs that contribute in the development of social life skills for kindergarten's child.
