The study aims to identify the relationship of motivation with the participation of knowledge among the employees of the Saudi government sector, and what is the most influential factors in motivating them to share the knowledge. It provides also a suggested model for activating these factors using descriptive approach to study these factors. The study was conducted on a random sample of employees in the education sector, because they have the highest percentage of employees in the government sector. The sample's size was 400, distributed among Saudi universities. The questionnaire was used as a main tool in this study, also studying the models of knowledge sharing in intellectual production to provide appropriate recommendations and mechanisms. The results of the study revealed a statistically significant relationship to the motivation of the internal factors; the most important factors were: Good relations between employees, confidence, success of work, honesty, sense of belonging to the organization, sense of responsibility, and appreciation by managers. The most important external factors were: Justice, encouragement and support, participation of decision-making personnel, job security, promotion, efficient leadership, and organizational culture. This study presented a model based on classifying these factors into three dimensions: The organizational dimension, the technological dimension, and the individual dimension, each of it has appropriate mechanisms to be active among the employees of the Saudi government sector. |
