Abstract
:
The present study was conducted during the period from march 2017 until February 2018 to survey and follow the distribution of flesh flies in Jeddah governorate using final fly traps. 4774 flies of sarcophagide belong to tow genera sarcophaga and wohlfahritia were collected. The result showed that S.dux was dominant and more distribution (98.6%) during the study while W.nuba was the least one (104%) with very little numbers . The result showed that S.dux has three peaks of activity during the study under climatic conditions of Jeddah governorate. The first and second peaks were recorded through the year 2017 in march and September, respectively, while the 3rd peak was recorded in February 2018. Statistical analysis showed positive significant correlation between the population density of flesh flies and both of Mean temperature and relative humidity ( r= 0.295; r= 0.312 and p= 0.044; p= 0.032 , respectively ).classifications keys of external morphology and internal anatomy as well as polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique were used to identify the dominant species of flesh flies .The study indicated that the slaughter of central animal market contained high density of flies and proved to be highly significant and more frequency during the period of survey by about 45 % followed by main slaughter of Jeddah (25%) and fish market (21%) while vegetable market (9%) was the least significant. The insecticidal activity of some conventional insecticides such as organic phosphates and pyrethroids and non-conventional ones such as insect growth regulators and bacterial insecticides were evaluated according to the methods of world health organization.the result showed that the organic phosphate safroten proved to be more effective than ActiKil against s.dux adults by a about 0.62 fold and 374.5 folds when using feeding and contact bioassay methods, respectively.the pyrethroid Drakar proved to be also more effective than sulfak against s.dux adults by a about 86.9 folds and 905.33 folds by using feeding and contact bioassay methods, respectively. The concentration which to kill 50 % ( LC50) of larvae were 27.543 and 74.870 ppm for the bacterial insecticides Tracer and Natural DT using the dipping method and a about 0.2317 And 0.910 ppm using the feeding bioassay methods. Comparing values of concentration which to inhibit 50 % of adults emerged from larval treatments, S.dux flies proved to be more susceptible to the tested insect growth regulators pyriproxyfen, Diflubenzuron and Azadirachtin by using feeding bioassay method then using dipping method by a about 3.559 , 1.504 and 2.557 folds respectively .
