Abstract
:
This study aimed at recognizing the relationship between the irrational ideas and attitudes towards extremism, the researcher used the descriptive liaison method on a random sample of (506) adolescents of Secondary School students. The researcher applied the preliminary data form, the irrational ideas scale and the scale of the attitude towards extremism. Researcher calculated the arithmetical frequencies, averages, standard deviations, Pearson correlation coefficient, and T test for independent samples, simple linear regression, and global analysis. The researcher concluded the following results: There is a statistically significant relation between irrational ideas and the attitudes of Secondary School students towards extremism in various forms. The study also found that there are statistically significant differences in the degree of extremism between those who have high and low irrational ideas among adolescent Secondary School students. The study showed that irrational ideas contribute to the prediction of attitudes towards extremism among Secondary School students, as the results of the global analysis indicated seven factors that combined some of the irrational ideas with some axes of attitudes towards extremism in three factors thereof. The study has reached a number of recommendations and proposals
