Abstract
:
This study aimed to identify the achievement level of the selection and evaluation programs of the merit concept in Filling public Jobs, the researcher in this study relied on descriptive analysis and questionnaires as methods of data collection, the study included (100) employees in the Ministry of Civil Service in Jeddah, the size of sample was (80) members. Questionnaires distribution randomly. The retrieval was (46) questionnaire valid for analysis with 57.5% from the sample. An appropriate statistical method has been used. The study reached the conclusion that is the selection and evaluation programs which included (selection process, evaluating job performance process, filtration tests) as it’s seen by the study sample has achieved a high level of merit. The selection process which is the announcement of the job and the methods of applying jobs, and the filtration methods that’s using to make selection decision, All was applied appropriately. As well as the evaluating job performance was applied fairly and objectively. The filtration tests were designed to measure the skills and abilities required for the public job. This study suggests to: develop the selection and evaluation programs constantly to maintain its high level and to keep up with times and its changes, develop the evaluation performance process to meet more of credibility and justice, develop filtration tests to measure more specialist abilities and skills in functional areas.
