Abstract : The challenges of urban renewal in the area surrounding the Haram al-Sharif The urban renewal process in terms of a simple axiom, it is the demolition and replacement of dilapidated old buildings with new ones. Nevertheless, Novelty drives up the process of urbanization in a very difficult and complex .. Experience has shown in some Western countries that this renewal does not contribute effectively to solving the problems of aging in the urban center of the city. This study is concerned and trying to urban renewal in the most sacred spot of land most sacred city in the science, the area surrounding the Haram al-Sharif .. We find that, despite the high price of land in that area, but there is a severe shortage of services and the underutilization of land .. This has led the situation to make several efforts by the private sector for urban renewal. In this research we will look into aspects of design, social, economic and regulatory efforts related to that. This leads to a more comprehensive view, resulting in the adoption of more effective solutions to address this issue in front of the existing challenges now.
