Abstract
:
It is known that intestinal parasitic infections are scattered all over the world. It is also known that there are several factors affecting the extent of the disease. Through this research study was the prevalence of intestinal parasitic infections and the blood values between the students of primary schools in the city of Jeddah. Has been selected seven schools for students and seven of the students are distributed to cover all areas of the city of Jeddah. 1000 questionnaire was distributed to a random slice of these students then get a stool sample and blood sample for students who agreed to their parents to participate in the study. Participated in the study 411 (150 students and 261 students) were obtained 231 'stool samples and 411 blood samples. The stool samples were analyzed using the method of intensive Forji and ether, as promised analysis of blood components using automated counting equipment. It was found that 20 samples (8.7%) contain most intestinal parasites of the species Gardia, was also detected 3 cases contain more than one parasite. Did not show any signs of harm to the blood components in children with intestinal parasites, but iron deficiency anemia appeared in about 20% of cases. Results also showed that more than half of the cases had a rise in white blood cells of the type Aazinowal. Thus, the low level of incidence of intestinal parasites in students a clear reflection of the high level of attention to personal hygiene among these students. However, the existence of iron deficiency anemia showed the need to improve the quality of food in children.
